Important Note: I have a condition called Chiari Malformation Type II, which I had to have brain surgery for three years ago.
Because of this, there are times when my brain doesn't want to work, and I simply have to wait it out. It's bad enough that I have to live with that, but it gets even worse when I have to deal with people who expect me to be 100% on-the-ball, all of the time. Sorry, guys, ain't gonna' happen.
I get confused and I get lost, and people pushing at me because I'm missing things or not able to give them 100% of my attention just really makes it that much worse.
If I don't comment to everything you post, it doesn't mean I don't like you, it just simply means that my brain isn't up to LJ stuff at that point.
If you can work with that, cool. Welcome. If you think you can't, then this journal probably isn't for you.
If you knew me years ago, then it's a good bet that I'm not the same girl as the one you remember. If you can't accept that, then I am sorry, I don't have time for you in my life. If I have no memory of people or places, be very careful of what you help me to "remember". I don't take lies about my past very well---and neither do those who love and shelter me. I've fallen many times, but I've also fought my way back to my feet and refuse to be anybody's doormat. I'm sorry if you are someone that knew me from before and are offended by this warning. There have been a few people from my past who tried to screw with my memory and play with my mind. It made a mess of me and those that love me worked very hard in cleaning that up. There is a reason for the "Phoenix Rising" title you will often find used in association with me. If this new me doesn't bother you, then I welcome into my world.
